RABAGAS Magazine welcomes texts, photographs, illustrations, ideas, and other editorial contributions.

We cannot promise that everything will be read immediately, that everyone will receive a reply, or that anything will be published. But you are welcome to send it.

Where Should Material Be Sent?

Editorial material should be sent to:

desk@rabagasmagazine.no

Questions concerning rights, agreements, and other legal matters should be sent to:

legal@rabagasmagazine.no

Please include, where relevant:

  • your name and contact information
  • a short description of the material
  • information about whether the material has been published previously
  • any relevant information about rights, credits, or other matters the editorial team should know about

What Can Be Submitted?

RABAGAS Magazine considers, among other things:

  • articles
  • features
  • essays
  • commentary
  • interviews
  • photographs
  • illustrations
  • comics
  • satire
  • personal writing
  • other things we did not know we were looking for

The editorial team is free to decide which contributions are considered, accepted, or published.

You Must Have the Right to Submit the Material

By submitting material, you confirm that you have the right to send it to RABAGAS Magazine for editorial consideration.

You must not submit material that:

  • you have copied from others
  • infringes another person’s copyright or other rights
  • is subject to an agreement that prevents submission or publication
  • contains confidential information that you do not have the right to share
  • is presented as your own work when it was in fact created by someone else

If the material contains works or content created by others, this must be clearly disclosed when submitting it.

Submission Is Not the Same as Publication

Submitting material to RABAGAS Magazine does not mean that it will automatically be published.

Submission also does not automatically result in:

  • any transfer of copyright
  • any right to payment
  • any obligation for RABAGAS Magazine to reply
  • any obligation for RABAGAS Magazine to retain the material
  • any exclusive agreement between you and RABAGAS Magazine

Material is first considered editorially.

If we wish to publish a contribution, the necessary terms will be agreed with the contributor.

Copyright

As a contributor, you retain the copyright to your own work unless otherwise expressly agreed in writing.

RABAGAS Magazine does not claim ownership of a work simply because it has been submitted to the editorial team.

When a contribution is published, it should be clear what rights RABAGAS Magazine has to use it.

This may, for example, include the right to:

  • publish the contribution on rabagasmagazine.no
  • publish the contribution in a digital edition
  • publish the contribution in a print edition
  • archive the published version
  • use reasonable excerpts or previews to present and promote the publication or the contribution

The scope of publication rights will be agreed where applicable.

Editing

RABAGAS Magazine may propose or carry out normal editorial editing of contributions intended for publication.

This may include:

  • copy-editing
  • correction of spelling and typographical errors
  • adaptation of titles and subheadings
  • shortening
  • fact-checking
  • adaptation to the publication format

Major changes affecting the content, meaning, or expression should be agreed with the contributor before publication.

The editorial team may also decide not to publish a contribution if the parties cannot agree on necessary changes.

Credit

Contributors are normally credited by name.

Alternative credit, use of a pseudonym, or anonymous publication may be agreed with the editorial team where there is a good reason.

The contributor is responsible for providing the correct spelling of their name and their preferred credit.

Payment

Submitting material does not automatically create a right to payment.

If a contribution is to be paid for, this will be agreed before publication.

No one should assume that payment has been agreed until it has actually been confirmed.

Previously Published Material

Always disclose whether the material has been published previously.

This also applies to publication on:

  • other websites
  • blogs
  • social media
  • newsletters
  • magazines
  • newspapers
  • books or other publications

Previous publication does not necessarily mean that RABAGAS Magazine will not be interested, but the editorial team needs to know about it.

Images and Identifiable People

If you submit photographs or other material in which people can be identified, you are responsible for informing us of any relevant circumstances concerning how the material was created and what permissions, if any, have been obtained.

Do not submit private or sensitive images of others unless you have the right to do so.

Take particular care with material involving children, vulnerable people, or private situations.

RABAGAS Magazine may request further documentation or clarification before publishing such material.

Real People and Allegations

If a contribution contains serious allegations about identifiable individuals, businesses, or organisations, the contributor must be able to explain the basis for those claims.

Relevant documentation and source material should be included or made available to the editorial team.

RABAGAS Magazine may request further documentation, fact-checking, or editorial revision before publication.

Artificial Intelligence and AI-Generated Material

The use of artificial intelligence must be disclosed where AI has played a substantial role in producing the material.

This applies particularly where:

  • substantial parts of a text are AI-generated
  • images or illustrations are AI-generated
  • audio or video is synthetically generated
  • real people are artificially depicted
  • material has been altered in a way that could mislead the audience

Ordinary use of digital tools for spelling, brainstorming, or basic language editing does not normally need to be disclosed.

RABAGAS Magazine decides whether AI-generated or AI-assisted material may be published.

Withdrawal Before Publication

You may ask to withdraw a submitted contribution before it has been published or before a binding publication agreement has been entered into.

Please notify us as early as possible at:

desk@rabagasmagazine.no

After publication, the agreement governing the use and publication of the contribution will apply.

Archive and Published Contributions

Published material may form part of RABAGAS Magazine’s editorial archive and publication history.

The end of a collaboration or a contributor later changing their mind does not automatically mean that already published material will be removed.

RABAGAS Magazine will, however, consider reasonable requests for corrections, updates, or removal.

Editorial Decision-Making

RABAGAS Magazine decides what it publishes.

The editorial team may:

  • reject contributions
  • request changes
  • postpone publication
  • change publication plans
  • withdraw a contribution before publication
  • correct, update, or remove published material where there are editorial or legal reasons to do so

Submitting material does not guarantee publication.
